Earlier this year, the HAPPY team had the opportunity to attend ClickFunnels’ sold out Funnel Hacking Live 2019 event in Nashville, Tennessee.
The four-day event attracted 4,500 ‘funnel hackers’ to the Gaylord Opryland Hotel, where attendees were given the opportunity to take their business to the next level, boost their leadership skills, and invest in their entrepreneurial dreams.
As devoted funnel hackers and an extension of the ClickFunnels marketing and publicity team, we worked behind-the-scenes to interview all of their 7 and 8-figure entrepreneurs, for the second year in a row.
Here are our top takeaways from the speakers and all of the award winners we interviewed at Funnel Hacking Live 2019:
Persevere: Be in it for the long run
Co-founder and CEO of ClickFunnels, Russell Brunson was a failing entrepreneur. His first stab at business consisted of selling potato gun DVDs, and although this was successful at one time, the business model ultimately failed due to technology limitations and obstacles (if you haven’t read this story yet, be sure to snag a free copy of Expert Secrets and learn all about it—it’s one of our favorite books!).
Fast forward to today, and Russell Bruson is the CEO and co-founder of one of the fastest growing SaaS companies in the world, and he’s helped more than 200 entrepreneurs become millionaires. Thanks to his perseverance, Russell has made a massive impact by helping millions of everyday people from around the world achieve entrepreneurial success.
Passion over profit
There’s a need for just about everything, so why not make a business for that one thing that you’re passionate about?
Being an entrepreneur is hard work (note: hard is an understatement), and chances are you won’t stick with your business if you’re not passionate about what you’re doing.
Decide on who you want to impact and figure out how to best serve those people.
For example, we rebranded a year ago to clearly draw a line in the sand about the companies we want to work with—we want to work with brands that make people HAPPY. We decided, if we can do PR for any company and get them results, why not work for companies that help people to grow their business, lose weight, enjoy their families, or overall, to be happy? And making this impact makes us, well… happy!
Decide who you want to serve. The profit can follow the passion (especially when you’re using a funnel).
“Riches are in the niches”
If you’re in business, then you’ve heard this one a lot, but it never ceases to amaze us just how true it is. The most successful entrepreneurs we interviewed have a clearly defined customer and clear solutions that they offer to solve customers’ problems.
For example, Cristy “Code Red” Nickel created a program that enables customers to lose 10% of their body weight every month without shakes, pills, dieting, or exercise. I know, it sounds too good to be true, but Cristy’s niche market and call to action have allowed her to cultivate a vibrant community of customers.
There’s also Paul and Stacey Martino, the husband-and-wife duo behind Relationship Development who are helping couples create an “unshakeable love and unleashed passion,” that only requires one person. The Martino’s unique and niche methodology for improving relationships has helped them save more than 10,000 failing marriages.
Moral of the story: Never shy away from targeting a specific audience, because riches are in the niches.
